The first thirty days may be the most crucial period for any new born rabbit as the rabbit may face unexpected changes in its body which may be negative or positive depending upon the given situation. A new born rabbit will take at least thirty days to come out of its mother's womb and hence special care must be taken in order to tackle any untoward incident which may have a negative effect on the overall well being on the rabbit. As soon as the newborn rabbits are born the mother rabbit tries to take special care and utmost attention so that baby rabbit gets adequate nourishment and essential energy in the form of mother's milk. Mother's milk is vital for newborn rabbits as the milk contains vital nutrients and other nourishments which may be necessary for the survival. All the pet owners should make it certain that newborn rabbits receive utmost care and attention from them as well as mother rabbit. Only then the final outcome may be appropriate as per your expectation and desire. It must be kept in mind that the mother rabbit builds the burrow or nest for the newborn rabbits but she does not remain in the burrow for too long. This can be linked with the fact that the mother rabbit has to feed herself in order to feed newborn rabbits. Until and unless the mother rabbit does not get adequate food or any other type of nourishment she may not be in a viable position to feed her newborn rabbit. However, again one vital aspect which must be given due importance is that as soon as the mother rabbit leaves her burrow in search of food other predators may get a golden opportunity to attack newborn rabbits.
In order to negate this negative characteristic pet owner should duly guard the newborn rabbits with utmost care and attention. One fundamental characteristic of mother rabbit is that she does not feed her new born rabbit for long and may leave anytime. Hence it is sole responsibility of the pet owner to take complete care and attention of a new born rabbit without fail. Any type of negligence or delay may lead to mishap which the pet owner may not like.
Newborn Rabbits may tend to be very restless and energetic which must be controlled buy the pet owner. A newborn rabbit must be kept in a proper cage with all the essential facilities for its positive survival. |
